What is a ‘co-operative’?

A co-operative is a non profit organization run on a voluntary basis in this case by the parents of the children enrolled in the school. As a co-op the school excels because of the participation and enthusiastic support of our members. Parents participate in the daily activities and running of the school.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

No, although we do encourage that children are potty trained we will work with you to accomplish your set goals.

What if my child has allergies?

The classroom is a peanut-free environment. An allergy board is posted to keep everyone informed and all teachers are trained in first aid and CPR.

Why is fund-raising necessary?

Fund-raising is an effective tool to keep enrollment fees affordable for anyone in the community.

Would my child be a good fit for the Glen Cairn Coop Preschool?

Absolutely! The GCCP runs an inclusive program for children at different stages, of different first language backgrounds, and children with special needs.

Why are tuition fees on the lower end?

In order to adhere to the values of the founder and keep the preschool accessible to everyone in the community.

What support do you offer for special needs children?

We work closely with Children Integrated Support Services to offer your child the appropriate level of support required.
